Both boys and girls Cross Country teams from Grass Lake brought home trophies from last night’s Springport Invitational. The girls bring home the 1st place trophy, led by the meet winner Ava Viegelahn and the boys bring home the 3rd place trophy, led by 3rd place finisher Matt Rankin. |
VOLLEYBALL
The Grass Lake Varsity Volleyball team traveled to East Jackson for their first conference match of the season. The Warriors made it an early night by taking them down in three sets (25-18,25-8,25-14). Each girl contributed on the court tonight making a solid team performance. Senior Catherine Cottle led the team with 13 assists and was 17-for-19 serving with four aces and 13 points. Abby Buttigieg had a team high of 18 digs while the rest of her team was able to dig up 23. Buttigieg was one serve shy of being perfect at the line going 20-for-21 with 16 points and four aces. Ruby Johnson led the team with six kills while the rest of her teammates had a total of 12 kills. The Warriors have their first home opener tomorrow night against North Adams. |
The Napoleon Pirates collected a win in their conference opener vs. Michigan Center 25-21, 25-19, 19-25, 25-17. Leading the Pirates for the evening were Momo Hampton with 39 assists and 14 service points with 3 aces and 16 digs. Emme VanPoppel was the leader at the net with 17 kills and 6 blocks. Alyssa Budd contributed 10 kills and 19 digs while Elisse Omey added 7 kills and 5 blocks. Other top performers included Kaitlyn Pequet with 19 digs, Karson Fairbanks with 6 blocks and Kelsea Bradley with 11 service points and 12 digs. —
