VOLLEYBALL
The Napoleon Pirates won in 3 sets vs. the Stockbridge Panthers 25-21, 25-13, 25-11. Momo Hampton had 22 assists, 18 service points with 4 aces and 10 digs for the night. Kaitlyn Pequet had 11 digs. Sam Conaway led with 9 kills and Emme VanPoppel and Alyssa Budd each had 5 kills. Karson Fairbanks contributed 2 solo blocks!!! 14-8-1 overall.
Grass Lake traveled to Lenawee Christian to take on #2 ranked LCS and #1 ranked Athens. The team took on LCS first and lost the first set 18-25. The girls cleaned up their errors and won the second 25-23. They dropped the third set 18-25. Then taking on Athens the girls battled back and forth both sets only falling to them in two sets both 18-25. Olivia Turner Les the team defensively with 35 digs and served 18-for-20 with nine points and four aces. Abby Buttigieg followed with 18 digs and was 12-for-14 serving with six points. Layne Terry had 11 digs and served perfect 16-for-16 with seven points three aces. Mia Buttigieg had 13 digs and served 14-for-16 with seven points. Sam Caldwell had 11 digs and 18 assists. Bree Salts followed with 14 assists. Ruby Johnson led offensively with 11 kills. The team hosts Michigan Center Tuesday. |
SOCCER
Grass Lake Warrior soccer ended the regular season on a high note with an 8-3 win over Arbor Prep on Thursday night. Seniors Henry Black and Gus Vitale both had 3 goals to lead the Warrior offense. Fellow seniors Dylan Griffor and Wesley Good each added a goal to round out the scoring. Good also tallied 3 assists as well as Jacob Colesa, Zander Stormont, and Gus Vitale. Grass Lake finishes the regular season at 11-3-2 and ranked 11th in the state. They will start playoffs at home vs Jackson Lumen Christi on Thursday October 14th. |
