VOLLEYBALL

The Grass Lake varsity volleyball team traveled to Jackson High School to take on both Jackson and Hastings. The Lady Warriors had a slow and rough start against Hastings but were able to finish the match with a win in three sets (14-25, 25-23, 15-8). The Warriors regrouped, limited their errors, and controlled the tempo of the game and took Jackson High down in two sets (25-17,25-16). Senior, Leah Allen was a key player tonight at the service line. She served 25-for-25 with 23 points and six aces giving us a huge service run. Allen had 10 digs in the back as well. Catherine Cottle had 29 assists for the night. Sisters, Abby and Mia Buttigieg dominated the back row. Abby had a team high of 33 digs while Mia followed with 19. Abby was perfect back at the line serving 19-for-19 with 14 points. Ruby Johnson had tallied up 11 kills. The Warriors will be back in action Wednesday the 8th at East Jackson.
