The Grass Lake Warriors hosted the East Jackson Trojans this evening for their senior night. The Warriors honored five senior athletes, Emily Taylor, Amber Boomer, Kendall Shankland, Amelia Hamlin, and Anna Konopka. As well as senior Manager, Taylor Henion. The senior class came out playing extremely well taking the first set of the night 25-11. Going into the second set Grass Lake let their guard down a little and weren’t able to close out the set losing 21-25. They were able to get the ball rolling in the third and fourth sets by winning both of them (25-22, 25-23). Senior defensive specialist, Anna Konopka made her front row debut and led The Warriors with nine kills and had 14 digs. Amber Boomer was perfect at the service line going 22-for-22 with 15 service points and five aces. Boomer racked up 14 digs. Amelia Hamlin also had a perfect service game going 20-for-20 with 15 service points and five aces. Hamlin had 25 assists for the night. Kendall Shankland followed behind Boomer and Hamlin with perfect serving going 17-for-17 and eight service points. Shankland led the team with 17 digs. Emily Taylor led the team with 6 total blocks. The team will be back on the court Tuesday night against Hanover Horton.
