Earlier Monday, Grass Lake was ranked No. 1 in the first weekly Associated Press poll of the season. The Warriors received four of five possible first place votes. On Saturday, Grass Lake beat Harper Woods Chandler Park, 89-64. Chandler Park was ranked in the top 10 in Division 2.
